What is
restorative justice?
Restorative justice is a voluntary and safe process that brings together those affected by harm. The process allows all participants to understand the impacts of the harmful action — and what is needed to make things right.
Restorative justice can be a transformative and healing experience.
Felix’s Story

Why choose
restorative justice?
Every person deserves to be treated with dignity and given the opportunity to transform hurt and suffering into healing, redemption, and wholeness.

Heather’s Story
For years after her brother’s murder, Heather was consumed by anger — toward his killer, toward the legal system, and even toward God. Longing for some peace, she decided she needed to speak with the man who took her brother’s life. Through the restorative justice process that followed, Heather was amazed to find not just healing, but a newfound vocation.

Who We Are
Headquartered in Washington, DC, Catholic Mobilizing Network (CMN) is a national organization that mobilizes Catholics and other faith communities to value life over death by ending the death penalty and promoting healing practices like restorative justice.
Through education, advocacy and prayer, CMN expresses the fundamental belief that all those who have caused or been impacted by crime should be treated with dignity. CMN works in close collaboration with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, is a founding member of the Congregation of St. Joseph Mission Network and engages with national, diocesan and local collaborators across the country to advance forms of justice that promote human dignity, accountability, and healing.
